Greetings and thank you for visiting www.sagevita.com
My name is Barbara Meynert and I am a deal maker and entrepreneur who have enjoyed an executive career in Asia and Europe across the financial, commercial and regulatory sectors. When I left full-time employment, I did not relish the idea of “retirement” and asked myself the question: what am I going to do for the next 30+ years of my life. I developed the Sage Vita concept in response to that question. And I created this website as a way of sharing the concept and my thinking as it evolves, as well as providing a platform for friends to contribute their experience and views.
Sage Vita, which means a life of wisdom, advocates a lifestyle that will enable us to live not only longer but also well and to engage in lifelong learning and with the world around us. It does not give prescriptions but provides guidelines and information along a number of dimensions – including physical, mental, spiritual, social, and financial, for each of us to create our own unique Sage Vita lifestyle. The main foundation for this lifestyle is a sound body and sound mind supported by sound finances. With this foundation, we should be able to enjoy active ageing i.e. we can maintain functional capacities throughout our life course (see graph below). When we age actively, we could continue to lead productive lives for our own fulfillment and enjoyment as well as for the good of our family and society. That is the aim I have for myself and for each of you.
I have produced a couple of books which you may enjoy reading.
- Sage Vita: the Art of Living Longer and Living Well
- How to Live to be 100: Actively, Healthily, Vigorously
